Why do volunteers matter?
Empowering Volunteers to Strengthen Oklahoma 4-H
Oklahoma 4-H thrives because of the dedication of more than 4,000 volunteers who work tirelessly to support and mentor approximately 140,000 youth each year. These volunteers are the heart of our program, helping young people develop essential life skills, build confidence, and find success in their 4-H journey.
Providing educational opportunities for volunteers is one of our most critical needs. Well-trained volunteers enhance the quality of our programs, create meaningful learning experiences, and ensure that every 4-H member receives the guidance and support they need to reach their full potential.
Supporting Volunteer Training & Development
To expand volunteer knowledge and leadership, Oklahoma 4-H seeks funding to support program development and travel opportunities for volunteers. Financial contributions help provide access to essential training events such as:
Southern Region 4-H Volunteer Forum – A multi-state conference where volunteers gain valuable insights, share best practices, and network with other 4-H leaders.
State 4-H Volunteer Leader Conference – A statewide event that equips volunteers with tools, resources, and innovative strategies to enhance their impact at the club level.
Specialized 4-H Training Sessions – Targeted workshops and professional development opportunities that help volunteers stay informed on the latest trends in youth development and leadership.
By investing in our volunteers, we are investing in the future of Oklahoma’s youth. Expanding access to training and leadership opportunities ensures that 4-H continues to grow, thrive, and reach its maximum potential.
